About Wharton, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The city of Wharton is located on the Colorado River approximately fifty-five miles southwest of the Houston metropolitan area.  Founded in 1846, it is the county seat of Wharton County and home to a population of just over 10,000 people.  The climate in Wharton is humid subtropical, which translates to relatively hot summer temperatures reaching into the mid nineties, mild winters with lows in the mid forties, and average rainfall of about forty inches annually.  The weather conditions are perfect for raising the agricultural crops and cattle that are common to this farming and ranching community.

Wharton is a vibrant and friendly community, with many big city advantages to compliment its small town charm.  Cultural offerings include the historic Plaza Theater located in Wharton's downtown square that features live stage and musical productions, and the 20th Century Technology Museum, also located in downtown Wharton.  For recreation and relaxation, there are eleven parks located throughout the city, including Riverfront Park located on the banks of the Colorado River, where you can picnic, ride your bicycle, hike the nature trails, and fish from the pier.  You will know you are there when you see the big green dinosaur at the entrance to the park!  Wharton is a favorite of antique shoppers.  You can spend hours browsing the undiscovered treasures of the shops located around the downtown square.  Wharton County is a sportsman's paradise, with deer, goose, and duck hunting all within easy reach, and plentiful freshwater fishing in the Colorado River or at nearby Lake Texana, just a short, thirty minute drive from the city.

Community involvement and civic pride in Wharton are never in short supply.  The city hosts several major festivals and events throughout the year, including a citywide garage sale and farmers market, in addition to specific holiday festivities.  Wharton's citizens are known for their involvement in community affairs.  Fundraising efforts by citizens resulted in the collection of over one million dollars for the Boys and Girls Club of Wharton, who by the way were the recipients of the 2011 Honor Award winner for the IMPACT Program.  Together, the citizens and community leaders of Wharton unite to make it one of the best places to live in the Gulf Coast region of Texas.
