About Eagle Lake, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Eagle Lake is located in the southeastern section of Colorado County, Texas approximately an hour and fifteen minutes southwest of the city of Houston.  Eagle Lake's climate is humid subtropical and perfect for the agriculture and ranching that is native to the area.  Widely known as the "Goose Hunting Capital of the World," Eagle Lake attracts a wide variety of birds, and borders the Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge to the north of the city that is home to the endangered prairie chicken.  Waterfowl Outfitters Unlimited is located in Eagle Lake and hosts goose hunts, skeet shooting, and fishing on prime leased hunting land in the area.

Eagle Lake is home to the largest private lake in Texas.  Also called Eagle Lake, it is home to hundreds of different species of birds and is a hunters haven and bird watchers paradise.  During the winter months, Eagle Lake has the largest concentration of migratory waterfowl in North America that flock to the area to feed on the grain from the surrounding rice and cornfields.

For a day of fun and relaxation, visit Eagle Lake Municipal Park, where you can picnic, swim, play tennis, or enjoy nine holes of golf at the Eagle Lake Golf Course, located adjacent to the park.  The David Winterman Wildlife area offers a nature trail with a viewing platform that overlooks the lake where you can watch a variety of wildlife species in their natural habitat.

The Eagle Lake Commercial Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and includes the Farris Hotel built in 1912, the Southern Pacific Depot built in 1890, the old City hall building circa 1926, the Meitzen Garage of 1935, and the 1907 Gottlieb Hermann Building.  For more on the history of the area, visit the Prairie Edge Museum located in downtown Eagle Lake that features plant and animal life exhibits, as well as artifacts from ancient tribal times and the pioneer days.
