HVAC Membership Plans in El Campo, TX
Heating and cooling systems have a way of breaking down when the weather is at its worst. On the Texas Gulf Coast, that usually means a July afternoon, when your system has already been running most of the year and the humidity has been working on your coils the entire time. Regular check-ups will not stop normal wear and tear, but they will catch the loose wire and the refrigerant leak before either turns into a motor failure and a day without cooling.
A Cannell service agreement puts that maintenance on a schedule, and it puts you at the front of the line on the day something does go wrong.
What Your Membership Includes
Every agreement covers two performance tune-ups per year, one ahead of cooling season and one ahead of heating season. Along with that, your membership includes:
- Free priority service, 365 days a year. When you have an emergency, you can rest assured that Cannell Air Conditioning & Heating will be there. Our commitment to program customers means a technician at your door within 24 hours of calling our office.
- Energy-saving coil cleaning at every visit.
- A one-year labor warranty on our work. If a problem comes back within a year of service, there is no charge for us to come back out and diagnose it. We stand behind our work.
- A discounted diagnostic call. With most service companies, you can expect a trip charge of up to $100. Our regular charge is $85. Program customers pay $75.
What It Costs
Membership is $120 for service on your first system and $100 for each system after that. A home running two systems comes to $220.
Here is what that buys back. Your diagnostic call drops from $85 to $75, so every service call returns $10 before any work starts. From there, you get 10% off any repairs and replacement parts that fall within your contract. If a blower motor replacement runs $400, that is another $40 back. One repair call on one part has already returned $50 of a $120 agreement, and our repair trucks are fully stocked, so we are able to repair 99% of calls on the first visit.
The larger number comes later. When it is eventually time for a new system, your membership takes 5% off the complete installation. The average system today is over $5,000 installed, which puts that discount above $250, or more than double the cost of a single-system agreement.
Equipment and situations differ. If you want to know exactly how the pricing works out for what you have in your home, call the office and we will go through it with you before you sign anything.
What We Check on Every Tune-Up
On a furnace visit, we test for carbon monoxide leaks, clean the burner and ignition assemblies, check the flue draft and combustion, and calibrate the thermostat. On an air conditioning visit, we clean the condenser coil and the condensate drain, inspect the evaporator coil, check for refrigerant leaks, monitor refrigerant pressure, and take amperage and voltage readings. Air handlers and heat pumps have their own checklists, including defrost controls and auxiliary heaters on a heat pump. Whatever the equipment, we tighten electrical connections, lubricate moving parts, and inspect the filtration system every time.
Why Clean Coils Matter More Here
Dirty coils reduce efficiency and cause your unit to work harder, which wears parts out faster and shortens the life expectancy of the system. Testing performed by the EPA found that as little as one-tenth of a centimeter of dirt or dust on a coil could reduce efficiency by 21%. With the average homeowner’s heating and cooling bill running $1,500 per year, a 21% loss means you could be wasting up to $315 every year. Systems in Wharton, Matagorda, Colorado, and Jackson counties run most of the year and pull humid Gulf air across those coils the whole time, so buildup happens faster here than it would in a dry climate.
Extended Warranties on New and Existing Equipment
Your heating and air conditioning system is used 24 hours a day, year-round, and it requires service as it operates. An extended warranty is the other half of managing that cost. Factory warranties usually expire prior to the end of the equipment’s life cycle, and an extended warranty can cover the bill for all costs, including labor, during the insured period. That lets you plan and project your costs while protecting against increases in parts or labor prices. Ask one of our specialists to explain the extended warranties available for your new or existing equipment.
How to Join
Call our office or send in a service request and tell us what equipment you have, roughly how old it is, and whether you are already a customer. We will go over exactly what the agreement covers on your system and get your first tune-up on the calendar. There is no presentation to sit through. At Cannell, the owner or a technician handles it, not an aggressive salesperson.
