Sixty Years in El Campo
Cannell Air Conditioning & Heating opened its doors in 1966. We have been a family-owned company from the beginning, and we still run the business out of El Campo, serving homeowners and business owners across Wharton, Matagorda, Colorado, and Jackson Counties.
Six decades in one town change how a company operates. When your customers are the people you see at the Chamber lunch and in the checkout line, a reputation is not something you can advertise your way into. You either have one or you do not. We have spent sixty years earning ours one repair at a time, and most of our work still arrives by way of a neighbor who told a neighbor.
We have carried the Carrier label since our inception and have been a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer for more than fifty years. That relationship has outlasted most heating and air conditioning companies in this part of Texas. Factory Authorized Dealers are held to standards for technical skill, business practice, and customer care, and we were named a Carrier President’s Award winner in 2019 and 2020.
What We Stand For
Our mission has not changed since 1966. We provide respectful, dependable, honest, and reliable customer service for any job, no matter how large or small. Our pricing is competitive and fair, with no hidden or surprise costs.
Nobody enjoys calling an air conditioning company, and most people who do are worried about two things. They are worried the quote will increase once work begins, and that they will be talked into equipment they do not need. We built our process to take both worries off the table.
When you ask us to look at a new system, the owner or one of our technicians comes out to inspect it, never an aggressive salesperson. The person who tells you what your home needs is the same person who understands how the equipment goes in, which means the recommendation you get is a technical one rather than a pitch.
The People Who Show Up at Your Door
Our crew brings more than 210 years of combined experience to the work. They are trained on all makes and models of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, and that training continues on a regular, ongoing basis rather than ending the day someone is hired. Our technicians are NATE-certified, which means they have passed independent third-party testing rather than simply claiming competence. We are fully insured, licensed under TACLA003986C, and hold an A plus rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Our customers tend to notice one thing in particular, and they mention it in our reviews. The owner works side by side with the crew. That is simply how a family business of this size operates, and it keeps the standard honest. When the person whose name is on the building is on the job, quality need not be enforced from a distance.
Membership in the Comfort Institute keeps us current on diagnostics and indoor comfort research, and NATE certification means our technicians are measured against an outside standard rather than our own opinion of them.
Rooted in Wharton County
We are members of the El Campo Chamber of Commerce, and the El Campo Leader-News featured our work in a 2011 profile. Our service area reaches El Campo, Wharton, Bay City, Palacios, Edna, Victoria, Port Lavaca, Eagle Lake, Columbus, and Rosenberg.
Gulf Coast weather is the reason we exist. Systems here run hard for most of the year and coils fight humidity the entire time. A unit that would coast along in a dry climate works considerably harder here. Knowing what twenty years of that does to a system is not something you learn from a manual. You learn it by being here.
We have never had to work at being part of this community, because we have never been anything else. Our customers are our neighbors, and the quality of our work is visible to everyone who lives here. Seventy-one published reviews across Google, Facebook, and Yelp come almost entirely from people in El Campo and the towns around it. In a market this size, that is not marketing. It is a record.
Why Our Customers Stay
Our trucks stay fully stocked, which is how we finish 99 percent of service calls on the first visit. When a repair does need a second look, we warrant our labor for a full year, and there is no charge to come back and diagnose it again. We stand behind our work, and that is a simpler promise to keep when the same company will still be here next year.
We handle heating, air conditioning, and indoor air quality, which makes us a single source for the systems that keep a home comfortable and its air clean. We offer service agreements for customers who would rather prevent a breakdown than react to one, and financing is available with approved credit on larger projects. Whatever the job turns out to be, we treat it as work worth doing properly.
Come Find Out for Yourself
Sixty years is a long time to keep a promise, and we would rather demonstrate it than describe it. If you are weighing a repair against a replacement, or you want an honest read on the system you already have, ask us for a free estimate. The owner or one of our technicians will come out, look at it, and tell you straight.
Call us at 800-696-3760, or toll-free at 979-543-6485. You are also welcome to stop by 1006 E Jackson Street in El Campo. We are here Monday through Friday, and emergency service is available by appointment.
